The plot of the new film will focus on the chosen warriors from Earthrealm who participate in a brutal magical tournament, fighting against invaders from another dimension to save humanity from complete enslavement.
Actors Tadanobu Asano and Hiroyuki Sanada will return to the film. They will be joined by Karl Urban as Johnny Cage and Joe Taslim playing the role of Noob Saibot. The project is produced by James Wan, known for films such as "The Conjuring," "Furious 7," and "Aquaman."
The premiere is scheduled for May 7.
