The Bishkek City Hall reminds about the importance of safety rules when using personal mobility devices (PMD)

In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, local authorities are once again emphasizing the importance of adhering to safety rules when using personal mobility devices (PMD). The city hall urges everyone to approach road safety responsibly, thereby contributing to the formation of a culture of respect and adherence to law and order in the urban environment.

With the onset of good weather, there has been an increase in the use of PMDs in Bishkek, including electric scooters and bicycles, as well as short-term rental services.

In this regard, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Ilyas Kolopov, head of the city hall's office, with representatives of car-sharing companies that provide electric scooter rental services in the city.

The meeting addressed issues related to the necessity for operators to comply with current legislation and traffic rules, as well as ensuring order when using electric scooters in the capital.

Representatives of car-sharing companies were given recommendations to enhance control over users, including the possibility of imposing sanctions on those who violate traffic rules. Special attention was paid to the implementation of effective accountability measures, including temporary or complete restrictions on access to the electric scooter rental service through the mobile application for offenders.
