According to available information, about 1,000 citizens of Kyrgyzstan are stranded in Dubai, facing difficulties with accommodation.
“Lists of citizens have been compiled, and our staff is actively interacting with hotel management to extend their stays free of charge,” he noted.Among the passengers of transit flights, 20 people were unable to depart, but they were accommodated in hotels. Nevertheless, two of them could not be placed in hotels as their carrier—a low-cost airline—does not provide such services. These citizens are being accommodated in hotels at the expense of the embassy.
There are 62 Kyrgyz citizens on cruise ships, but this information is preliminary. They will remain on board until March 7, and if the situation worsens, a decision will be made regarding their future.
The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that due to the large number of inquiries, certain difficulties have arisen. Over the course of two days, consulate staff in Dubai processed more than 1,000 calls and requests.
