Filipp Savin, a 33-year-old resident of the Rudnyansky District of the Volgograd Region, has become the new hero of the "Our People Abroad" column.

He works as a baker and dreams of selling all his property in Russia to return to his homeland in Kyrgyzstan.

Filipp spent his childhood in Kyrgyzstan, where he studied in school until the 9th grade. "I was born in the village of Kara-Dyikan in the Uzgen District of the Osh Region. I grew up among Uzbeks and learned their language. Unfortunately, at the age of 8, I became an orphan. I was adopted by a Kyrgyz family, where I became the youngest of eleven children. My Kyrgyz mother was Ürumkan. I still keep in touch with her and am sincerely grateful to her for helping me get back on my feet," shares Filipp.

Savin surprises his compatriots in Russia with his knowledge of the Kyrgyz language. He recalls a funny incident: "Once in the metro, a Kyrgyz guy approached me and asked, 'Hello, do you have a lighter?' I replied, 'Men'de shirenk bar.' He looked at me in confusion, lit his cigarette, and walked away after thanking me. Then he returned and clarified, 'Aka, siz bizim tilde сүйлөп жатасызбы.' I decided to joke and replied, 'Sorry, I don’t understand you.'

In addition to his work, Filipp raises livestock and hopes to return to Kyrgyzstan in the future to buy a house and live with his family.

"I don’t remember how and when my biological mother died, and my father ended up in prison. At that time, I was too young to remember anything. In the Kyrgyz family, I kept the same name and surname," he continues.

Filipp converted to Islam, and at the mosque, he was given the name "Umar." In the Kyrgyz family, he also engaged in livestock breeding, just like the other children, and felt at home.
