17-year-old Shahlo Osmonakhunova, who lives in Kara-Kul in the Jalal-Abad region, is actively engaged in Olympic boxing.

Her passion for sports began at the age of 14, and since 2023, she has been regularly attending a boxing section.

Currently, Shahlo is an 11th-grade student at school No. 3.

“I started boxing of my own accord. I have been interested in this sport for a long time, but I didn’t know that there was a section in our city. At present, I am training and plan to connect my life with sports—I want to become a boxing master and then teach young athletes,” Shahlo shared her plans.

She emphasized that she has no intention of quitting sports, as boxing plays a key role in her life.

Training Conditions

Shahlo openly states that the training conditions in Kara-Kul leave much to be desired.

“In the hall where we train, the conditions are not the best. We don’t have a ring, and we are forced to train only with simple equipment. But I hope that in the future the conditions will improve and the hall will become modern,” the athlete noted.

According to her, in recent years, there have been changes in the city’s infrastructure, and positive steps are being taken to develop sports.

Interestingly, Shahlo is not the only one in her family who is passionate about boxing—her younger sister also practices this sport, which indicates support for physical activity in their family.

Sports Achievements

In 2024, Shahlo participated in the Kyrgyz Republic Boxing Championship for girls and adolescents born in 2008-2009, which took place in Bishkek. In the weight category up to 57 kg, she managed to take third place.

This achievement was recognized by the local authorities of Kara-Kul. Shahlo and her coach Kultaev Bakyt received monetary awards from the mayor's office, the city council, and local deputies.
