Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kazakhstan, recently touched upon various topics in an interview with the Turkistan newspaper, including health and physical activity. He noted that he engages in sports and maintains good physical shape.

“I regularly practice yoga and play table tennis,” he shared, adding that such activities positively affect his health. Tokayev emphasized that he feels well and does not experience any issues with blood pressure, which remains stable and normal.

“I have gotten into the habit of daily yoga practice, although without meditation. A couple of times a week, I play table tennis with a former professional athlete. I have indeed lost 9 kilograms, which has improved my well-being,” Tokayev said.

The President of Kazakhstan also mentioned the sports interests of his colleagues from the CIS countries.

He noted that Vladimir Putin, the leader of Russia, recently demonstrated his strength at an informal meeting in Bishkek by participating in a match with a young judoka. Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan, trains regularly, while Sadyr Japarov, the head of Kyrgyzstan, prefers football. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Uzbekistan, maintains his physical shape in the gym, and Nikol Pashinyan, the Prime Minister of Armenia, actively rides a bicycle. Alexander Lukashenko, the President of Belarus, continues to play hockey, while Emomali Rahmon, the head of Tajikistan, stays healthy through physical exercise and hardening.
