Today, March 3, a ceremonial capsule laying took place in Bishkek for the construction of a new multifunctional cultural center. The event was held with the support of the city administration and the Ministry of Culture, Information and Youth Policy. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture Mirbek Mambetaliev and the Mayor of Bishkek Aibek Junushaliev.
Minister Mambetaliev emphasized the importance of cooperation between the ministry and the city administration, noting that the new cultural center will become a significant venue for theatrical performances, concerts, film screenings, youth initiatives, and educational events. He also added that this space will contribute to the development of creative industries and dialogue.
It should be noted that the building of the old "Chatyr-Kul" cinema was transferred to the state youth theater "Uchur" in 2009. However, in 2025 it was declared emergency, and a decision was made to demolish it. After that, the building was transferred to the Bishkek city administration, which allocated funds and began the construction of a new modern facility, as reported in the press release.
