According to the information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the first flight from Jeddah to Bishkek is carrying 90 citizens, while the second flight to Osh is carrying 120 people.
Both airplanes are en route and are expected to arrive in Kyrgyzstan around 16:00.
Under the terms of the agreement reached, such flights will be carried out regularly: three times a week — on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays to Bishkek, and on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to Osh.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that efforts to ensure the safe return of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic are ongoing.
Air traffic in the region was interrupted following an attack carried out by Israel and the USA on Iran on February 28. As a result of this incident, numerous air and missile strikes were inflicted on Iranian cities and military facilities. In response, Tehran attacked Israel and American bases in several countries in the Middle East. Several high-ranking Iranian military officials and officials were killed in the initial strikes. As a result of the escalation of the conflict, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed, along with about ten high-ranking officials. The new Supreme Leader of the country is Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the slain Ayatollah.
