‘As far as I know, the Supreme Leader is alive,’ said Iran's Foreign Minister

Abbas Araghchi stated live on NBC News that the internet remains inaccessible for most Iranians.

According to him, Iran "may have lost one or two commanders," but the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, "is still alive."

Moreover, Iranian media continue to deny reports of the deaths of high-ranking Iranian officials, including the president and the commander-in-chief of the army.

Araghchi also mentioned that Iran is interested in de-escalating the conflict and is open to negotiations if the U.S. and Israel stop their attacks.

He added: "At the moment, there are no connections. If the Americans want to talk, they know how to reach me."

Recently, Iran and the U.S. resumed nuclear negotiations, the latest round of which took place two days ago. Araghchi confirmed that Iran is carrying out attacks on American bases in the region, calling it an act of "self-defense."

According to CNN sources, Israel is cautiously optimistic about possible strikes on Iranian leadership, but there has been no confirmation of the Supreme Leader's death so far.

According to information from Al-Alam TV, Khamenei is expected to give a speech soon.

"Trump adopted Israeli 'red lines' and attacked Iran."

Trita Parsi, president of the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, noted that the U.S. had no "international legal grounds" for attacking Iran, despite Trump's statements justifying the operation.

"In attempts to justify what is clearly an illegal war and a violation of the promise Trump made to his voters to end unnecessary wars, he adopted Israel's arguments," Parsi emphasized in an interview with Al Jazeera.

Parsi added that Trump "embraced" Israeli "red lines," which prompted him to attack.

"Iranians fear capitulation more than war and were neither planning nor needing to capitulate to Trump, which led to Trump's willingness for further escalation," he stated.
