Khamenei noted that American authorities must understand: “if they start a war, the consequences will affect the entire region.” This statement was made in the context of ongoing threats from the US, which he characterized as habitual. “The US administration has repeatedly threatened, claiming that they have all military options,” added the Iranian leader. He also emphasized that Iran does not seek to provoke conflict and does not plan to attack other states. “The Iranian people will respond harshly to any attack,” he stated. Khamenei cited recent street protests in the country, comparing them to an attempted coup. “These riots resembled an attempt at a coup, which was successfully suppressed. Their goal was to destroy key institutions, including the police and government bodies, as well as attacks on mosques and the burning of the Quran,” he noted. “It really looked like an attempt to overthrow the government,” Khamenei concluded.
