- The U.S. operation was multi-layered and included actions by space forces, marine corps, ground and air forces. Tomahawk missiles were launched from both the sea and Air Force aircraft.
- The strikes targeted Tehran's airport, intelligence facilities, air defense systems, and missile installations, as well as the residence of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, which was destroyed. Cities such as Qom, Isfahan, Karaj, and Kermanshah were also hit.
- U.S. forces focused on Iranian military facilities, while Israeli strikes targeted political structures. This was part of the Trump administration's strategy, which aimed to eliminate Iran's nuclear potential without seeking regime change. The U.S. President urged Iranians to "take control of their government."
- Iran responded by launching ballistic missiles and drones at Israel; however, they were unable to overcome the air defense system. There were also attacks on U.S. bases in Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai, as well as in Riyadh. Explosions occurred in Dubai, damaging hotels, and in Abu Dhabi, where one person was killed. In Kuwait, a drone struck the airport, injuring several staff members. In Israel, a missile hit a residential building, resulting in fatalities and injuring dozens of people. The Israeli emergency service reported 121 injured across the country.
- According to media reports, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) transmitted a radio signal to ships prohibiting passage through the Strait of Hormuz, although there was no official confirmation of this order.
- Internet restrictions began in Iran, with connectivity levels dropping to 4% of normal, according to NetBlocks.
- As a result of the attacks, flights were canceled across the Middle East, and several countries, including Iran, Israel, Iraq, the UAE, Jordan, and Qatar, closed their airspace. Flight tracking data showed that the skies over the region became empty.
- Donald Trump reported that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in the attacks, which was later confirmed by Iranian state media, announcing a 40-day mourning period.
- Israeli military published a list of Iranian officials killed in the attacks, including Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh and Security Council head Ali Shamkhani.
- The U.S. Central Command stated that there were no casualties among American servicemen during the operation, and the damage was minimal and did not affect mission accomplishment.
- According to Iranian statements, over 200 people were killed in the attacks, including more than 100 girls as a result of a strike on a girls' school. The deaths of four family members of the Supreme Leader were also confirmed.
- In an interview with Axios, Trump noted that he has various options for action, including long-term strategies. He expressed satisfaction with the current results of the operation, adding that Iran would need "several years" to recover.
- Announcing Khamenei's death, Trump emphasized that bombings would continue until peace is achieved.
