Trump threatened a strike on Iran if Tehran refuses the nuclear deal. Iran stated its readiness to respond

In his message, Trump expressed hope that Iran would decide to negotiate and conclude a "fair and equal agreement" without nuclear weapons that would benefit all parties. He shared this opinion on the Truth Social platform.

According to the president, time is running out to reach an agreement, and in the event of a new attack, it will be more powerful than the strikes carried out during Operation Midnight Hammer in June 2025, when the U.S. attacked Iranian nuclear facilities.

Trump also announced the deployment of a "massive armada," including the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, in the Middle Eastern region.

"The fleet is moving quickly and with great power. This is a larger group than the one sent to Venezuela," Trump added, emphasizing the readiness of the ships to act with force if necessary.

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Tehran is ready to "immediately and decisively respond to any aggression."

"Our Armed Forces are ready - with fingers on the triggers - to respond immediately to any threats to our territory, airspace, and maritime borders. The lessons learned from the 12-day war allow us to act even more effectively," Araghchi noted.

He added that Iran has always sought a "mutually beneficial, fair, and equal" nuclear deal.

"This agreement must be based on equal terms, without coercion and threats. It must guarantee Iran's right to peaceful nuclear technology and exclude the possibility of creating nuclear weapons. We have never aimed to acquire it," the minister concluded.

Advisor to the Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Shamkhani stated that Tehran's response will be directed against the U.S., Israel, and all who support aggression.

According to media reports, Trump is considering new options for military action against Iran.

As reported by CNN and Reuters, among the possible targets could be leaders of the Islamic Republic, as well as facilities related to the nuclear program and government institutions.

Trump believes he has more options for striking Iran now, thanks to the deployment of an aircraft carrier strike group in the region.

In June of last year, the U.S. already conducted strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities during a 12-day conflict with Israel. At that time, Trump claimed that the Iranian nuclear program had been destroyed.

In January, mass anti-government protests occurred in Iran. Trump threatened to use military force against the suppression of protesters but then changed his mind. He urged participants to continue the fight and promised that "help is on the way."
