Trump threatened new strikes on Iran if it resumes its nuclear program

During a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at his residence in Florida, Trump noted: “I have heard that Iran is once again strengthening its military forces. If that is the case, we will have to take action. We will stop them. But I hope it does not come to that.” The President emphasized that if Iran continues to build up its military power, the U.S. will have no choice but to act, and the consequences could be significantly more serious than before.

Recall that on June 22, 2025, the U.S. struck key Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. After this operation, Trump claimed that Iran's nuclear capabilities had been “completely and utterly destroyed.” However, external experts find it difficult to assess the true state of Iran's nuclear program and the speed of its possible recovery. According to Western publications, the American strikes only delayed Iranian developments by a few months, while Tehran reportedly managed to relocate and hide most of its enriched uranium. The Iranian side, for its part, insists that no uranium enrichment is currently taking place in the country.
