According to information voiced by Trump in an interview with Axios, Iran is in a state of uncertainty and is interested in negotiations, despite the deployment of significant American forces in the region.

The U.S. President noted that a "huge armada" is positioned near Iran and added: "They want to make a deal. I know that. They have called many times. They want to talk."

Earlier this month, Trump stated that he considered the possibility of striking Iranian facilities amid protests that have claimed thousands of lives. However, he decided to postpone that decision, focusing on increasing military presence and preferring to avoid direct intervention.

Despite the suppression of protests in Iran, White House representatives say that the option of military intervention is still being considered.

According to reports, an American aircraft carrier strike group has already been delivered to the region. The USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier has entered the area of responsibility of U.S. Central Command, and additional F-15 and F-35 fighters, refueling planes, and air defense systems have also been deployed.

There is disagreement among Trump's circle. Some advisors urge adherence to a "red line" and punishment for Iran for its repressions, while others question the feasibility of bombings and suggest alternative paths to reach an agreement.

U.S. authorities believe that a potential agreement should include the removal of all enriched uranium from Iran, restrictions on the missile program, cessation of support for proxy forces in the region, and a ban on independent uranium enrichment.

The Iranian news agency IRNA reported a statement from Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei, who emphasized that the country is ready to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity, pointing to Tehran's high defensive potential.

It is worth noting that in the summer of 2025, Iranian nuclear facilities sustained significant damage as a result of attacks by the U.S. and Israel, and in December of the same year, the country experienced the largest internal unrest. Against this backdrop, Trump has repeatedly threatened to take harsh measures against those participating in the protests.
