Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of the world's maritime oil supplies pass

The Iranian leadership made this statement in the context of rising tensions in the region. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned vessels that passage through the strait is currently unsafe due to military actions by the United States and Israel, as well as possible retaliatory measures from Tehran, reports the Tasnim agency.

According to information provided by the Iranian Red Crescent, military actions in 24 provinces of the country have resulted in the deaths of more than 200 people and injuries to about 750 civilians.

Retaliatory strikes by Iran on American bases and Israel have caused concern among neighbors in the Persian Gulf. Missiles have fallen on cities such as Doha and Dubai. The Ministry of Defense of the United Arab Emirates reported that they managed to intercept several missiles; however, some still reached their targets, causing fires and panic among the population. One civilian was killed as a result of falling debris.
