Trump announced the death of Iran's supreme leader

In an interview with NBC News, Donald Trump, the President of the United States, shared information about the alleged death of Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader of Iran. According to Trump, the U.S. administration considers this information "reliable," but final confirmation is needed pending visual evidence. The President noted that as a result of recent attacks, a significant portion of the Iranian leadership, which made crucial decisions in the country, has been eliminated. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also spoke about the presence of "many signs" of Khamenei's death following a joint operation by Israel and the U.S.

The conflict escalated on February 28, when the Israeli armed forces, supported by American forces, conducted massive preemptive strikes on more than thirty strategically important targets. Among the targets of the attacks were the residence of the supreme leader, the presidential complex, facilities of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and nuclear sites in Isfahan. Trump confirmed that the involvement of American troops in the operation was aimed at completely eliminating threats posed by the Iranian regime. As a result of one of the strikes on a school in the city of Minab, 40 people were killed, marking a tragic incident among the attacks.

In response to these actions, Iran launched missiles at Israeli and American military bases located in countries such as Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait three hours later. Although the official Tehran has not yet confirmed Khamenei's death, the internet in the country is almost completely shut down. A state of emergency has been declared in Israel: classes in schools have been canceled, and mass gatherings are prohibited. The escalation of the situation has also affected global logistics: the airport in Dubai temporarily suspended flights, and the Houthis announced the resumption of attacks on vessels in the Red Sea.
