The investigation established that K.B.B., who headed the center from 2012 until August 2025, conspired with the head of the private company OsOO M. In 2020, expensive medical equipment was purchased for the center, including PCR and IHL laboratories from the brands Cobas and Abbott. Subsequently, the former director signed a contract with this company for the supply of reagents, which were purchased at inflated prices over the course of five years. For his actions, K.B.B. systematically received "kickbacks" from the supplier.
An audit of the financial and economic activities of the RBC for the period from 2020 to 2025 showed that the actions of K.B.B. and the management of OsOO M led to damages amounting to 36 million soms for the state. On March 5, 2026, the former director was detained and placed in the SCNS detention center.
Investigative actions are ongoing. Law enforcement agencies are conducting operations to identify other officials who may be connected to this corruption scheme. A legal assessment of the actions of the head of the private company will be provided during the further investigation.
