Kyrgyzstan will start exporting AI-80 gasoline to Tajikistan and Afghanistan

Cases of forced sale of AI-80 gasoline and diesel fuel, which are not in demand in the domestic market, have been reported in the country. This was stated by Daiyrbek Orunbekov, head of the information policy service of the President's Administration of Kyrgyzstan.

He emphasized that companies associated with the Tashiev family forced local oil traders to purchase this gasoline and diesel, despite the lack of real demand. Under pressure, these traders mixed AI-80 and diesel fuel with quality fuel imported from Russia and offered it to consumers. This process among oil traders has been dubbed "shakarap".

"After Kamchybek Tashiev left his position, the mentioned companies ceased purchases of AI-80 gasoline and diesel fuel. As a result, significant stocks were formed at the 'Kyrgyz Petroleum Company' warehouses," he added.

In response to this situation, the government has granted permission for the temporary export of local fuel. Thus, AI-80 gasoline and diesel fuel produced at the 'Junda' and 'Kyrgyz Petroleum Company' enterprises will be sent to Tajikistan and Afghanistan. At the same time, fuel that meets European standards and is imported from Russia will not be exported.

Additionally, the state has begun modernization of the 'Kyrgyz Petroleum Company' plant. It is expected that the work will be completed within two years, after which the enterprise will be able to produce fuel that meets European standards and satisfy the domestic needs of the country," Orunbekov reported.
