The Importance of Adhering to Traffic Rules
Since the beginning of 2026, more than 100 people have died in road traffic accidents in the country, reported police captain Nurlanbek Niyazbekov, head of the DPS and law enforcement practice department of the Main Department of Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to Niyazbekov, the main goal of the campaign is to prevent road traffic accidents and increase driver responsibility. He also noted that in 2026, there has been a decrease in the number of accidents compared to the beginning of the previous year.

As part of the campaign, drivers who are stopped are given a new edition of the traffic rules, which includes not only road signs but also norms of responsibility for drivers.

Additionally, participants in the campaign are offered water and dates for those who are fasting, as well as mugs and thermoses featuring images of road signs.
"Follow the Traffic Rules!"
Emergency service employees also appealed to citizens, reminding them of the importance of yielding to vehicles with flashing lights.
Ambulance driver Aibek Omorov noted that some drivers do not understand what is happening when doctors are performing resuscitation in the vehicle and do not yield the road. He urged people to be understanding, adding that this also applies to fire trucks.
According to him, the number of vehicles on the roads has increased, leading to more traffic jams and complicating the work of emergency services.
"Sooner or later, every family calls for an ambulance. Sooner or later, we will come to you. Therefore, we ask: help us, yield the road," he emphasized.

Drivers stopped by the employees of the DPS and the Main Department of Road Safety generally support the initiative and goals of law enforcement agencies.
One participant in the campaign noted: "I often encounter situations where other drivers violate. This is wrong, as safety should always come first."
One woman who received a collection of traffic rules remarked that it was just in time, as she planned to refresh her knowledge.
According to her, the campaign is useful. "Thank you to the employees. It is necessary to restore order on the roads; everyone sees that some drivers violate the rules," she added.

Press service representative of the DPS at the Main Department of Internal Affairs Nadirbek Jusupov emphasized that every person is a full participant in road traffic until they reach their destination. He urged everyone to follow traffic rules, noting that this is a matter of life, not just fines.
