“Unfortunately, there is only a low-quality version available online. We plan to show a digitized copy from film, which will also include a Russian translation. This project became possible thanks to the efforts of the staff of the archival department of 'Kyrgyzfilm'. After the screening, there will be a discussion featuring Artykpai Suyndukova, Shairgul Kasymalieva, and Busurman Odurakaev,” the organizers added.
The film tells the story of difficult periods in Kyrgyz history through the fate of the main character, Seynep, who possesses a unique gift — to be a mourner.
