A new approach to road repairs is being implemented in Bishkek. This became known at a recent meeting of the specialized commission of the city council.

Deputy Kazybek Ergeshov emphasized the importance of preventing situations where asphalt is dug up for the repair of heating networks or water supply just a month after laying.

Vice Mayor Ramiz Aliyev added that when forming the title list of roads, the need to replace old utilities is now taken into account. He noted that asphalt will not be laid on streets until the water supply or sewage systems are updated.

“For example, we are not starting repairs on Soviet and Kyiv streets, as it is necessary to replace the heating networks,” Aliyev explained.

Currently, 70% of the capital's roads require repairs.
