The Pentagon announced the readiness of the US industrial base for combat

According to information posted on the Pentagon's website, the US Department of Defense has signed contracts with several leading American defense companies to increase the production of critically important components for munitions. Companies Lockheed Martin and BAE Systems have become participants in an agreement that aims to quadruple the production of guided warheads for the THAAD missile defense system.

Deputy Secretary of Defense for Procurement Michael Duffy noted: "Ensuring the security of our supply chain is as critical as partnering with key contractors. This agreement with BAE Systems sends a clear and stable signal of long-term demand. We are creating the confidence for our partners that is necessary for investment, expansion, and hiring new personnel. Thus, we are strengthening the industrial base to ensure combat readiness."

The Department of Defense assures that the US capabilities in creating and deploying this vital defensive weapon will surpass any threats posed by adversaries, both for the country itself and for its allies.

Additionally, the Pentagon, in collaboration with Honeywell Aerospace, announced a framework agreement aimed at increasing the production of key components for the American arsenal, including navigation systems and electronic warfare solutions. An agreement was also signed with Lockheed Martin to accelerate the production of precision strike missiles.

As reported by Reuters, since the beginning of the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine in 2022, as well as during Israel's operations in Gaza, the US has reduced its stockpiles of weapons by billions of dollars, including artillery systems, munitions, and anti-tank missiles.
