As is known, a large-scale infrastructure project called Old Bishkek is actively being implemented in the center of Bishkek. Currently, more than 80% of all construction work has already been completed.
The Old Bishkek project includes:
- retail spaces at the underground level;
- a two-level underground parking lot accommodating 250 cars;
- escalators and elevators;
- ramps and navigation systems to ensure access for people with disabilities;
- convenient entrances and exits for the safe movement of pedestrians.
On December 8, Kamchybek Tashiev visited the construction site on the instructions of President Sadyr Japarov.
During the visit, the chairman of the State Committee for National Security (ГКНБ) emphasized the need to dismantle structures and stops that reduced the width of the roadway. He also ordered the demolition of the third floor of the under-construction building, as, according to information provided by the city administration and the Ministry of Construction, the building project only allowed for two floors.
Currently, the building is being brought into compliance with the project documentation.
