On January 17, a lecture titled "From Canvas to Mosaic: Kyrgyz Art of the 20th-21st Centuries" will take place at the ROX Centre, formerly known as the "Ai-Pery" salon, organized by the National Museum of Fine Arts named after Gapar Aitiev. The press service of the Ministry of Culture announced this event.

The choice of venue for the lecture is symbolically significant, as this building houses the mosaic "Ayalzat," created by the People's Artist of Kyrgyzstan, Theodor Herzen. Participants of the event will have the opportunity to see the restored work of the talented monumental artist.

At the lecture, art historian and senior researcher at the museum Akjibek Beishenbaev will share information about the development of Kyrgyz art from the early 20th century to the present. She will also answer questions regarding the formation of Kyrgyz art, the establishment of the national school of painting, sculpture, and monumental art.

The following topics will be discussed during the lecture:

- key figures and artists who influenced Kyrgyz art;

- iconic works of painting and sculpture;

- monumental art in the context of the urban environment;

- the mosaic "Ayalzat."
