The installation of an automated commercial electricity metering system (ACEMS) has started in Bishkek thanks to the efforts of the branch of OJSC "NESK," responsible for the electrical networks. This was reported by the organization itself.
The implementation of ACEMS aims to improve electricity distribution, enhance control, and ensure transparent consumption accounting.
Since the beginning of 2025, 28,000 "smart" meters have already been installed in the capital, distributed across the districts as follows:
- Leninsky District — 9,140 units.
- Sverdlovsky District — 4,659 units.
- First of May District — 11,742 units.
- October District — 2,374 units.
Representatives of PES emphasize that "smart" meters can transmit readings to the server in real time; automatically disconnect power supply when the power limit is exceeded; disconnect electricity in case of debts and reconnect it after payment; notify about attempts of unauthorized interference; improve the quality of electricity; minimize theft risks and eliminate the human factor by reducing contact between the controller and the consumer, as well as protect electrical equipment from overloads.
