In 2026, it is planned to plant 50 thousand new seedlings in Bishkek. This was stated by the mayor of the capital, Aibek Junushaliev, in an interview on the podcast of the "Kabar" agency. According to him, the necessary contracts have already been signed, and the delivery of seedlings is expected to begin in February.
The mayor noted that the new seedlings will not be immediately planted within the city limits. First, they will be placed in a nursery, where specialists can monitor their adaptation and growth. This decision was made based on the experience of 2025, when 1,500 trees were brought to the city, which unfortunately did not survive. "We will first plant the seedlings in the nursery to ensure their viability, and only then will we transfer them to the city," emphasized Junushaliev.
