The historical mosque was founded by Kemeл aji Shabdan uulu, the son of the famous Shabdan batyr and the first qazi for Muslims in Kyrgyzstan.



Recently, a ceremony was held in Balakchy to unveil a memorial plaque at the mosque founded by Kemeл aji Shabdan uulu (1882–1948), who was the son of the legendary Shabdan batyr and the first qazi for Muslims in Kyrgyzstan.

The initiative to install the memorial plaque was taken by the State Secretary Arslan Koychiev. From 1946 to 1948, Kemeл aji served as the imam of this mosque, actively promoting the spread of religious knowledge and strengthening spiritual values in the country.

Among those present at the event were the authorized representative of the president in the Issyk-Kul region Bakyt Zhetigenov, Azireti mufti of the DUMK Abduaziz qari Zakirov, chairman of the Council of Scholars Zamir Rakiyev, as well as descendants of Shabdan batyr and local residents.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, verses from the Quran were recited and prayers were said in memory of Shabdan batyr, his sons, and Kemeл aji.
