The Ministry of Internal Affairs has received information that employees of the weight and dimensional checkpoints located on the Bishkek–Osh highway and subordinate to the Department of Ground and Water Transport are abusing their official positions.
It has been established that officials regularly accepted illegal bribes from drivers, which ranged from 1000 to 5000 soms. This money was given for the unobstructed passage of trucks exceeding the permissible weight, without documenting the violations. According to preliminary data, 150-200 trucks passed through these checkpoints daily.
In connection with these facts, the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated a criminal case under Article 337 "Abuse of Official Position" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Employees of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained several workers of the weight and dimensional checkpoint at the moment of receiving bribes. A preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen for the citizens: A.Z., born in 1991; S.U., born in 1981; A.A., born in 1998; A.R., born in 1994; M.M., born in 1979; T.T., born in 1973; and A.B., born in 1994.
