
Sadyr Japarov, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, has signed a decree depriving Almazbek Atambayev of all state awards.
According to the press service of the president, this decision was made in accordance with the verdict of the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek, issued on June 3, 2025. The decree is based on parts 1, 2, and 4 of Article 27 of the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On State Awards, Honorary Titles, and State Prizes" and Article 71 of the country's Constitution.
Under this decree, Almazbek Atambayev is deprived of the following awards:
the highest distinction "Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic"; the Order of "Manas" II class; the Order of "Danaker"; the medal "Dank".
In addition, previous decrees regarding his awards are annulled, including:
Decree No. 106 dated April 22, 1999, awarding the medal "Dank"; Decree No. 518 dated November 27, 2007, awarding the Order of "Danaker"; the third paragraph of Decree No. 311 dated November 30, 2011, awarding state awards; Decree No. 1 dated November 27, 2017, conferring the title "Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic".
The Judicial Enforcement Service under the General Prosecutor's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic has been instructed to seize the state awards and accompanying documents for their further transfer to the state awards fund.
The decree comes into effect upon its signing.
