In 2026, the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) plans to enhance the combat readiness of its Collective Forces by implementing new technologies in the fields of intelligence, electronic warfare, and unmanned systems. The organization's Secretary General, Taalatbek Masadykov, shared these intentions in an interview with the magazine "Allies. CSTO".
Particular attention will be paid to exercises on the western borders of the organization.
The Secretary General reported that in October of this year, a command-staff exercise "Indestructible Brotherhood – 2026" will take place on the territory of the Republic of Belarus with the participation of CSTO peacekeeping forces. Additionally, as part of coordinating actions to prevent biological threats, a special exercise "Barrier-2026" is planned, aimed at eliminating such threats in the interests of the collective peacekeeping forces.
Furthermore, Masadykov noted that joint military exercises under the names "Interaction," "Search," "Echelon," and "Frontier" are traditionally planned.
