Absattar Syrgabaev, the Minister of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan, harshly criticized the work of the road services responsible for the repair of the sections Suzak–Kadu and Kok-Jar–Orto-Sai in the Jalal-Abad region. As a result of the winter period, serious damage to the pavement was identified on these roads.

According to the ministry's press service, Syrgabaev demanded the immediate rectification of the identified violations and reminded that contracting organizations must adhere to the declared quality standards, rather than shifting the blame onto weather conditions.

During an on-site meeting, the minister stated: “I have said from the very beginning: roads must be built to a high standard. If you cannot perform the work properly, just say so. Some of you are leading us to disgrace. Words and actions must match.”

He also noted that winter precipitation cannot be an excuse for the destruction of new road surfaces: “You know what the soil is like in the Suzak district. If the section is problematic, drainage and reinforcement should have been planned in advance, rather than waiting for the road to wash away.”

Syrgabaev demanded that contractors complete the corrective work within the established deadlines and warned local authorities: “This should be the last warning. After the work is completed, the facility must remain in good condition, not deteriorate in just one season.”

The ministry confirmed that all identified defects will be rectified at the contractors' expense under warranty obligations, and quality checks on problematic sections are ongoing.
