According to the constitutional law, campaigning activities commence after the registration of all candidates is completed and cease 24 hours before the voting day. Since the elections are being held again, the entire electoral campaign process is shortened by one third.
Thus, the campaigning period will last for 20 days — from February 9 to February 28, 2026, until 8:00 AM.
Currently, the CEC has registered 25 candidates, including 15 men and 10 women. Three candidates have withdrawn their candidacies voluntarily.
From today, candidates, their parties, and authorized representatives can actively campaign, present their programs, organize meetings and rallies, as well as use mass media and internet platforms.
State bodies and local self-governments are obliged to provide premises and venues for placing campaign materials and meetings with voters at the expense of the republican budget.
Some categories of citizens, such as civil servants, foreigners, religious figures, observers, and individuals under the age of 18, are not allowed to participate in campaigning activities or distribute campaign materials. The use of foreign media for electoral activities in Kyrgyzstan is also prohibited.
Funding for campaigning is only permitted through the electoral funds of the candidates and political parties that nominated them.
It is worth noting that early elections for the Jogorku Kenesh took place on November 30, 2025. Due to identified violations of legislation, the voting results in district No. 13 were declared invalid by the CEC. In February, it became known that the criminal case initiated due to the installation of video cameras at the polling stations in this district was closed.
