Iskhak Masaliev advocates for a review of the functions and status of the GKNB, proposing to leave only the relevant powers with the agency. He believes that the question of creating a separate body to combat corruption or transferring these functions to the prosecutor's office and the police should be resolved by the president.
He also suggested forming an interagency commission to review high-profile cases from the past five years.
“The results may be surprising, but such a step is necessary for both society and the president,” he added.
