In an interview with the publication VB.KG, Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov, head of the GKNB, discussed the relevance of blocking TikTok and issues related to internet monitoring. He emphasized that no digital platform can take precedence over the health and moral upbringing of youth.
Shabdanbekov noted that monitoring social networks is conducted to identify cases of propaganda of violence, drugs, and extremism. As for TikTok, the decision to block it was made due to content that "does not align with Kyrgyz mentality" and negatively affects the development of children. The GKNB will continue its work to prevent the spread of destructive information online.
