He clarified that the issue of renaming is not currently being discussed in any government bodies.
The city will retain its name — Manas, as has already been confirmed earlier.
Recall that in September of last year, Jalal-Abad was renamed Manas. At the session of the city council on September 3, Mayor Ernistbek Ormokov proposed to discuss the issue of changing the name, and a week later, the Jogorku Kenesh approved the corresponding bill.
President Sadyr Japarov signed the law on September 17, and on September 27, Jalal-Abad officially became Manas. The then head of the State Committee for National Security, Kamchybek Tashiev, mentioned that Manas could become the capital of Kyrgyzstan in the future.
