During the meeting of the parliamentary committee on international affairs, a draft law on the ratification of the protocol, which amends the agreement between the governments of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan regarding border crossing points, was discussed. This protocol was signed on August 22, 2025, in Bishkek, as part of the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to Kyrgyzstan.

The purpose of this document is to comply with domestic procedures necessary for the implementation of the protocol. The new agreement proposes changing the name of the road crossing point "Kamishanovka" to "Tomonku-Chuy," as well as transforming it into an international crossing point with a 24-hour operating regime.

Additionally, it is planned to change the status of the crossing point "Kichi-Kapka" to international with a 24/7 operating regime. These changes are aimed at creating more favorable conditions for citizens and vehicles crossing the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border.

It is expected that the updated status of the crossing points will contribute to an increase in the flow of goods and passengers, attract foreign tourists, and improve infrastructure at the border.
