At a recent meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Ulan Primov expressed his concern about the state of Lake Issyk-Kul, which is considered a true gem of Kyrgyzstan.

He noted that the water level in the lake continues to decrease every year.

“According to media reports, while previously 80 rivers flowed into Issyk-Kul, now there are only about 35 left. This raises serious alarm. It is necessary to take urgent measures to protect and preserve Lake Issyk-Kul, as well as to create a specialized agency. If we do not start acting now, Kyrgyzstan may face an ecological disaster in the future,” emphasized Ulan Primov.
