According to the agency's statement, permission for temporary release was granted by the administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic following a request from Zheentaev's relatives.
The State Penitentiary Service noted that escorts will accompany the convict to the funeral in the near future.
Recall that in February 2026, the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek sentenced Ernist Zheentaev to six years in prison under Article 278 Part 3 "Incitement to Mass Riots" and Article 332 Part 1 "Production, Distribution, Transportation, or Mailing of Extremist Materials" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
A designer by profession, Zheentaev was detained in November 2025. A criminal case was initiated against him, and he soon received a conviction. His lawyer, Nurbek Sydykov, and relatives plan to appeal the court's decision to a higher instance, while the lawyer noted that the defense has not yet received a copy of the verdict.
