At a meeting of the parliamentary committee on science, education, innovative development, and information technologies, culture, sports, and youth affairs in Kyrgyzstan, Deputy Saltanat Amanova reported that religious literature accounts for 60 to 70 percent of all books published in the country.

She emphasized the importance of thoroughly checking the content of these books. The deputy raised the question of how much these publications adhere to the principles of traditional Islam and whether they require detailed analysis before publication.

Saltanat Amanova also highlighted the need to restore and strengthen the role of the national printing house in the country.

Currently, all printing houses are private. There is an urgent need to create a national printing house that could control and monitor the activities of private publishers.
