Uzbekistan Authorities Express Concern Over Stringent Checks on Migrants in Russia

At a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Olimjon Abdullaev, and the Ambassador of Russia to Uzbekistan, Alexey Erkhov, issues concerning the rights of Uzbek citizens working in Russia were discussed. This information was posted on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

The Uzbek side emphasized the need to prevent any violations of the rights and dignity of its citizens, including those who comply with the laws as well as those who may have violated migration rules.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, both sides confirmed their desire to maintain an open and constructive dialogue to optimize migration processes. The importance of regular consular meetings and consultations was also highlighted.

Participating in the discussion were consuls general from various regions of Russia, as well as representatives of the consular department of the Russian diplomatic mission and staff dealing with migration issues, including representatives of law enforcement agencies.
