According to information from the Patrol Service of the Bishkek City Police Department, the incident occurred on January 29 at around 1:00 PM on 7 April Street. The driver of a Hyundai Sonata hit a child and left the scene of the accident.
The taxi driver explained his actions by saying that he was distracted by a passenger sitting in the back and as a result, hit the child. He left the scene in a state of shock and later expressed his apologies.
The department urges all drivers not to leave the scene of an accident in the event of traffic incidents.
