Among the detainees are foreigners
In the Jalal-Abad region, in the Manas area, the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) has halted activities related to the missionary work of a non-traditional religious movement. This was reported by the press service of the agency.
The detainees are connected to the 'Furkan' movement, which opposes the secular policies of states and actively supports the ideas of Sharia.
As a result of operational measures, 20 people were arrested, of whom 6 are foreign citizens. It has been established that the followers of 'Furkan' chose the Jalal-Abad region as an experimental site for organizing religious events and creating cells in the southern regions of Kyrgyzstan.
The organizers and participants of the illegal missionary activities have faced administrative fines, and measures are being taken to ensure compliance with the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Freedom of Religion and Religious Organizations" and other regulatory acts.
