Law enforcement officials, together with representatives of the local akimat, emphasized the importance of adhering to the fundamentals of cybersecurity. Among the recommendations are not to share personal data with strangers, including bank card details, PIN codes, passwords, and SMS confirmation codes. Residents are also strongly advised to avoid clicking on suspicious links, especially those received via messengers like WhatsApp, and not to enter their personal information into them.
Special attention was given to the scheme involving "droppers" — individuals who transfer their bank cards and data to third parties. The police department stressed that such actions are criminal offenses and will result in legal consequences.
Additionally, citizens were strongly advised not to respond to video calls and voice calls from unknown numbers in messengers, including WhatsApp, and not to trust messages asking to "verify the account" or "confirm the code."
The police noted that following simple digital security rules and avoiding communication with strangers can significantly reduce the risk of becoming a victim of fraud.
