On January 29, a woman filed a report with the First May District Internal Affairs Department about a crime. According to her, on January 27, strangers called her using different phone numbers, presenting themselves as employees of the State Committee for National Security, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the National Bank. They deceitfully informed her that money had been transferred in her name to terrorist groups, which could lead to criminal liability.
The perpetrators, under the pretext of "preventing criminal liability" and "safeguarding funds," psychologically pressured the victim, giving instructions on the necessity of carrying out financial actions. As a result, the woman sold her apartment and transferred 10 million 600 thousand soms to the fraudsters' accounts.
It later turned out that the callers were fraudsters, causing the woman significant financial damage.
Based on this incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 209 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The capital's police have identified the suspects: A.K. (born in 2000), S.N., and B.A. (both born in 2004). All three have been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.
Currently, operational-search activities are ongoing to clarify all the circumstances of the case and identify other participants in the crime.
The Bishkek City Internal Affairs Department reminds that law enforcement officers and representatives of the National Bank never demand the transfer of funds, the arrangement of loans, or the sale of property over the phone. In case of receiving such calls, it is recommended to terminate communication and contact the nearest internal affairs department or call 102.
