The detention took place as part of a criminal case initiated regarding bribery and was conducted by the GKNB Department for the Issyk-Kul region on January 29, 2026.
According to the GKNB, "K.M.A." demanded money from entrepreneurs providing tourist services in the Ak-Sui district to reduce the fine for the absence of a seal on the electricity meter.
Currently, "K.M.A." is placed in the temporary detention facility of the Internal Affairs Department of the city of Karakol, and investigative activities are ongoing.
