Not taking her phone with her, the woman approached the GKNB with cash
An unusual case occurred with a resident of Bishkek, who could have become a victim of phone scammers. This was reported by the Internal Affairs Department of the Lenin district.
According to law enforcement agencies, the criminals, posing as acquaintances and employees of the "GKNB" and "National Bank," persuaded the woman, who previously worked in the education sector, to sell her apartment. They claimed that her name was linked to the financing of terrorist groups in Syria.
After the Bishkek resident cashed out the funds, she headed to one of the local shopping centers to transfer the money. At that moment, she forgot her phone at home and, to clarify her further actions with the money, decided to enter the nearest GKNB building.
The reception committee staff suspected fraud and advised the woman to stop communicating with the unknown individuals and to contact the police.
