In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, individuals involved in criminal activities related to extorting money from drivers transporting goods have been detained.
According to the press service of the GKNB, on February 9, operatives arrested two men known as members of the so-called "sportobshchak" — D.Zh. and R.u.A., who were engaged in the illegal collection of funds from foreign citizens.
During the investigation, it was revealed that for the past 15 years they systematically extorted money from truck drivers transporting goods from the Dordoi market to other countries, using threats and physical violence, charging fees for each unit of cargo and each vehicle.
An important point is that D.Zh., having connections in law enforcement agencies, previously had no criminal record. It was also established that he has close ties with criminal elements, including members of the organized crime groups of Kamchy Asanbek and Ryspek Akmatbaev.
In this case, the GKNB's Main Investigation Department has initiated a criminal case under Article 261, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the detainees have been placed in the GKNB temporary detention facility.
Currently, active investigative actions are ongoing to identify other possible participants in this criminal group.
