Representatives from various state structures participated in the meeting, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State National Security Committee, the State Penitentiary Service, Financial Intelligence, as well as the National Bank. The ministries of digital development, education, culture, information and youth policy, science and higher education, as well as regulatory bodies in the field of communications and personal data protection were also involved.
During the meeting, the most common schemes of internet fraud were discussed, including phone and messenger scams, account hacking, as well as promises of high profits with minimal risks. Issues related to the use of the internet space for drug sales, especially among youth, were also addressed.
Among the topics raised at the meeting were measures to combat cybercrime in the context of increasing digitalization, the necessity of interaction between state bodies and the private sector, as well as issues related to improving the digital literacy of the population.
The General Prosecutor's Office strongly urges citizens to remain vigilant: personal data, passwords, and bank details should not be shared with strangers, suspicious links should be avoided, and loved ones should be informed about possible internet threats. In case of detecting fraudulent activities, it is necessary to immediately contact law enforcement agencies.
