According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, search operations to locate the man who was caught under the avalanche in the "Boroondu" area of the village of Kyzyl-Oy are ongoing.
The work was temporarily suspended on February 16, but resumed the very next day, February 17.
It is worth noting that on February 12, 2026, an avalanche covered D.A., born in 1967, along with his 50 sheep and one horse.
A total of 39 people were dispatched to the scene of the tragedy, including 24 rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and 15 local residents.
As of February 16, the search efforts yielded no results, with only 31 animals found.
