According to information from the Pajhwok Afghan News agency, more than 500 musical instruments and related items were destroyed in the central province of Parwan. This was reported by the department responsible for promoting virtue and preventing vice.
The head of this department, Mawlavi Makbul Ahmad Waqas, explained to Pajhwok that over the past year, musical instruments and attributes that the authorities believe contradict Sharia norms and are used in celebrations and dances were collected in various districts and the provincial center.
The burning of the instruments took place in Gulghandi with the participation of representatives from the provincial administration and intelligence agencies. Waqas also urged citizens not to use items that do not comply with Sharia laws.
